Reynolds started his career as an assistant engineer at The Townhouse Studios, London. Working through the ranks, he began to engineer for many successful producers such as Hugh Padgham, Steve Lillywhite, Jon Kelly, and John Leckie. Reynolds has engineered albums for David Sneddon, The Beautiful South, Jools Holland, Ute Lemper before starting his own production career. This included engineering work on Beverly Knight's "Shoulda Woulda Coulda" single which reached Number 2. Reynolds also produced Shack's Here's Tom with the Weather Album for Simon Moran's North Country Label after meeting them years earlier at the Townhouse while working as an in-house engineer while they finished "HMS Fable".
Reynolds engineered two albums for McFly, the double platinum Room on the 3rd Floor which included the hit singles "Obviously", "Room on the 3rd Floor" and That Girl. On their follow-up album, Wonderland, Reynolds worked on the Comic Relief #1 "All About You" and "I'll Be OK" (also a number 1).
Most recently Reynolds has been working with The Hoosiers, producing and mixing current single, "Choices".
Reynolds has worked extensively with Just Jack,[2] starting with producing and mixing Just Jack's critically acclaimed 2003 debut album for Rolled Gold Records, The Outer Marker, for which he co-wrote two songs, including the single "Triple Tone Eyes". When Rolled Gold folded, Reynolds struck a deal with Just Jack, leading to the recording of a mini album that includes the #2 hit single "Starz in Their Eyes". This became the basis for the album Overtones, signed and released through Mercury Records in 2007. "Starz in Their Eyes" was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for Most Played song of 2007, being played over 40,000 times on UK radio. It is also used in an Xbox 360 Kinect sports game. Reynolds has more recently been working on the album All Night Cinema, for which he produced and mixed two singles, "Embers" and "The Day I Died".
In 2006 Reynolds built Long Island Studios in West London around an SSL4048E Mixing Desk. It serves as a place to write, record, mix and finish records. It serves as a hub for artists, musicians and writers. At Long Island Studios Reynolds has mixed for Just Jack, Marli Harwood, Polytechnic, Vincent Vincent and the Villains, Pixie Lott, The Red Deltas, and The Swing Movement. It is from this studio that he has also produced and mixed songs for The Hoosiers,[3] Soundgirl, Girls Can't Catch, Ed Drewett, Paul Heaton, and The Agitator.
In early 2011 Reynolds and longtime manager Leanne Myers teamed up with Craig Logan and Jill Paterson from LME to develop songwriting and production.
